Production Blog: Filming With Renato
Hello guys! Welcome back to the blog! Today will mark the beginning of our filming for our final task! Last blog I spoke on how we planned our filming times and locations. For today's blog I will speak on the actual beginning of our filming. As said in the last blog, Finn and Isahiah are difficult to communicate with. So Renato and I decided we will film as many scenes possible together, and save the scenes Finn and Isahiah are needed for, for last. With this being said, Renato and I talked and figured out the best time to film would be after his afternoon practice. After practice I drove over to his house, arriving around 6:00 pm. This time was perfect, with the sun setting it set the mood exactly how we wanted. At first we filmed the drone scenes because those would be hardest with the limited time we had. The first drone scene was an establishing shot showing off Renatos neighborhood. This scene wasn't particularly hard to shoot, but we were in a rush because my drone was close to dying and I forgot the backup battery. After the establishing shot, we filmed the running scenes. This scene was extremely hard to make. The drone has a auto follow mode which we had to utilize because we only had two people available to film. The scene was Renato running away from a car, with a drone flying behind the car following him. This scene was hard because I was driving the car and couldn't look to see if the shot was good or not. Due to the fact I wasn't able to check the shot, this scene took multiple attempts and probably 30 minutes in total. That's it for today's blog! Thank you for tuning in, and I hope to see you again tomorrow for the second filming blog.
