Reflection

Hello everyone! Welcome back! If you tuned in a couple days ago, you would know I completed the process of making my commercial! As I look back on the entire journey of creating and refining my commercial using Adobe Premier Pro, I become enveloped in a wave of emotions. The idea for the video was filled with enthusiasm as I visualized narrating and showing my life store in a minute long video. Sorting through the images and clips brought a wave of nostalgia upon me, reminding me how blessed I am to live the life I have. The initial steps into the vast world known as Adobe Premier Pro was intriguing, the platform opened up various pathways of creativity in my brain I didn't know previously possible. Although the vast amount of tools and options were overwhelming at first, once I got used to the basics, it became a lot of fun figuring out all of the different tools I had available to me. I got sidetracked messing around with the software, but crafting a storyline allowed me to rega

Production Blog: Revisions

Image
Hello everyone! Thank you and welcome back to my blog! If you tuned in yesterday, you would know I had my commercial revised by my friend. He gave me many critiques that I agreed with and gave me a couple ideas on how to fix them as well. Which brings me into the topic of todays blog! Todays blog is going to be on the process of revising and fixing all the issues with my commercial. The first feedback I received was on the flow of the commercial, at some points it was boringly slow and others it was too fast to understand. So to fix this I went back to the storyline from my blog two days ago. I completely rethought of the way everything was aligned together. At first, everything was in chronological order, but I decided it would make sense to have everything connected in categories. I put all the important people in my life together, and all my hobbies/things I enjoy doing together. It was harder to decide exactly what order I put everything, in order for the transitions to be smooth,

Production Blog: Peer Review

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Today I'm going to going over the process of me peer reviewing with my friend David. A lot of this process of taking photos, videos, and learning how to edit was with him. So when we finished we peer reviewed each others final draft. This was honestly terrifying for me. I spent hours working on this commercial, I lost sleep, and I wasn't ready for what he would say about it. But, at the same time I was weirdly excited. Like I said, I spent hours on this. And this would be the first time showing it to anyone. Despite what his criticisms were, I was excited to know what he thought. He did have a few criticisms. With the main one being the pacing, I left some photos on for too long, and some on for not long enough, as well as some transitions being to fast or slow. In addition to the pacing, the audio didnt line up on a few clips, as well as it over powered my video's audio at some points. But the main one which I as well agreed with

Production Blog: Editing

Image
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to be speaking on my journey using the adobe premier pro software to edit my commercial. Starting my journey in the wide realm of Adobe Premier Pro was like setting foot in a whole new world. Filled with endless creative possibilities that I never would have even thought of if not for it. With a mountain of clips and photos ready, I began organizing everything using Premiere Pros system, to ensure everything was ready for when I started editing. Creating a storyline was my next step. This allowed me to visualize the narrative I intended to tell, emphasizing the main points and glossing over filler/unimportant details. It also aided in me finally choosing my photos and clips. I made sure to ensure each chosen item carried significant weight in my life. As I dove into the editing process itself, tools like the razor and slip became invaluable throughout the process, as they helped me adjust the clips without altering their duratio

Production Blog: Planning & Photo Taking

Image
Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today's blog is going to be on the process of me choosing my photos and making my videos, as well as learning how to use the editing software. To start, I thought of some things that I like doing that I would like to include in my commercial. This included, going to the gym, cooking, playing soccer, video games, and photography. In addition, I wanted to include some family members and friends who have been with me throughout my life. To start, I went through my photos. Every album, flash-drive, and storage disk I have, I went through. As going through these, I chose every photo that I would potentially use on my commercial. This included a photo of me and my two closest friends, Renato and Leo, on a soccer field during the rain, me and my family at my older sister's wedding, and a photo I took of a sunset. There were more, but these were the main ones that are significant to me. But, because of the way I wish to format my commercial, the

Research & Planning Blog

When I first started thinking about what I wanted to do for my commercial I watched TikTok for some ideas. I ran into an account called "Recider". He is a cinematographer and editor whos videos gave me a lot of inspiration and ideas on how I want to edit my commercial. After I figured out how I wanted to do my commercial I started to put some thought on what videos, photos, and music I wanted to put in it. At first I wanted to use a Drake song, but I was unsure if that would be "school appropriate" so I thought of other artists to use. Bruno Mars was the first to come to mind, but my friend was using him and I want my project to stand out. I finally came to the conclusion that I'd use a Zach Bryan song since I'm going to a concert of his with my family next summer. After deciding the music I had to start thinking about what photos and videos I'd wish to use. My first thought was to put the things that mean the most to me. This brought to mind my family a

Hello, my name is Conner Cleary, my favorite color is blue, I used to live in Rhode Island, and I have 4 siblings. I moved to Florida eight years ago, and I am currently a sophomore attending Fort Lauderdale High School, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I attended Bayview Elementary, in which I gained a love for reading and science. I also met some of my closest friends who have been with me since then and hopefully will be with me for life. For my middle school years, I attended Sunrise Middle, in which I spent most of my time online due to Covid-19. and although it limited my middle school experience, I grew a lot closer with my friends and myself. Despite getting worse at math, I started improving myself on a physical and mental level. I got better at managing my time, started going to the gym, and gained more confidence in myself. Last year I began attending Fort Lauderdale High School, it was my second year back in person in school. I made a lot of new friends, and lost some old ones.
