Genre

Image
We chose tragedy as our genre because of its ability to evoke raw, authentic emotions, in addition to its ability to create a deep connection between the audience and characters. Tragedy allows us to explore the complexities of human experience, such as grief, loss, and resilience through tragedy, in a way that is deeply personal and relatable. Tragedy provides a platform to highlight the struggles people endure and the ways they confront their pain. Through cinematic storytelling, tragedy allows us to craft powerful visuals and emotionally charged moments that resonate with the viewer long after the film ends, hopefully leading them to reflect and connect the film events to their real life. Our main hope is to have our viewers leave the film with the main idea of checking up on people around you.

Our Pitch

Image
Pitch 1: A seemingly lighthearted story about a young man navigating his everyday life, filled with moments of joy with his friends and girlfriend. Only to reveal toward the end that his smile hides his stress and depressive thoughts, leading to an emotional end. We want to do this film because it will be a challenge to create. In comparison to the film we did last year, this film portrays a deep and meaningful topic. The lighthearted tone in the beginning allows the audience to connect with the protagonist, making the final reveal more impactful emotions. It also challenges societal perceptions of happiness, encouraging viewers to look beyond surface level appearances. Everybody goes through impactful events at least some point in their life, and most don't share these with the loved ones around them. This pitch is hopefully aimed to highlight the idea of never truly knowing what is going on in another's life, no matter how close you are to them. Pitch 2: A grieving individua...

Group Blog

Hello everyone! Good to see you again. Today, I am excited to reveal my final group for my Final Task. After much consideration and reflection, I have decided to with three of my close friends, Finn O'Brien, Valentina Agnese, and Alyssa Jaidane. This decision was not made lightly. I took into account the challenges I faced in last year’s task and my past experiences with team members who struggled to complete their share of the work. Finn and I worked together on our final task last year in Media Studies AS Level, and it was a great experience. We found a way to balance having fun and staying productive, something that is often a challenge in group projects. While we know that working as a duo might pose certain challenges, especially when it comes to filming, we have already considered solutions to these potential obstacles. Additionally, while I did not do AS level with Valentina, I do have many classes with her and know just how good her work ethic is. Also, due to the amount of...

Introduction

. Hello! My name is Conner Cleary. I am a Junior attending Fort Lauderdale High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Last time I spoke to you like this, I shared how I was searching for jobs and saving up money for a car. This year, I’m happy to share that it paid off! I got a job at a yacht club where I earn more than I ever expected. Additionally, I started doing sports photography as a side hustle. Both of these ventures allowed me to save up enough money to purchase a 2024 Tesla Model 3. While I am responsible for the car payments, my parents have been generous and helped by covering the insurance, which has been a huge relief. Alongside working and saving for my car, I’ve recently started getting into trading. Every time I get paid, I allocate 50% of my earnings to a trading account, while about 30% goes toward my car payments and the remaining to upgrading my camera equipment and food. Balancing my time between school, work, and hobbies has been challenging, but it’s been inc...
