Production Blog: Scheduling Issues

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog! As much as we’d love for everything to go smoothly, filmmaking is never that simple. Today I will be talking about the unfortunate, but very real truth of scheduling issues. While we’ve made solid progress on our opening scene, we’ve hit a few roadblocks that have slowed us down. The biggest issue we’re dealing with is finding our female lead. Since we originally planned to film with an actress, but couldn’t finalize anyone due to availability, we decided to shoot the background and transition shots first. However, without our lead, certain scenes are on hold, and that’s making it harder to maintain momentum on shooting. Another challenge is syncing up everyone’s schedules. Since our team members have different commitments like jobs, classes, and sports, it’s been difficult to find days when everyone is free. We’ve had to reschedule multiple times, and sometimes, when we finally do get together, unexpected conflicts pop up. The weather has also played a role in delaying some of our outdoor shots. For example, the wind made it tough to film stable roller shots for the car scene, and now we’re keeping an eye on the forecast for the next shoot. We don’t want to risk wasting a filming day if conditions aren’t right. Although we have issues at the moment, that does not mean we can just pause our film. So, to keep things moving, we’re focusing on editing what we already have while coordinating a new filming schedule. Despite the setbacks, we’re staying optimistic. Thank you for reading again! Tomorrow's blog I'll be updating you on the final choice we've made for our female lead, in addition to the filming of a few more scenes of importance. Hope to see you tomorrow!
